9 Activities to Improve the Mindset of the Woman of a Mature Age

Say Goodbye to Mental Clutter

Sometimes our brains can feel very busy and full of thoughts, even when our bodies are resting or pretending to rest.  I can certainly relate to this.  I don’t know what it means to totally unplug.  This can make us feel stressed and tired. But there are things we can do to help clear our minds and give them a break.

Here are some ways you can clear your mind:

1.        Meditation – praying, sitting still and focusing on your breathing for a few minutes.

2.        Exercise – doing something active that gets your heart rate up.

3.        Walking – going for a walk, especially when it’s quiet outside.

4.        Doing something exciting – trying something new or doing something that scares you a little or out of your comfort zone.

5.        Doing a monotonous task – doing something that doesn’t require much thinking, like shredding paper.

6.        Mindfulness – focusing on what you’re doing in the present moment, like reading the Good Book, a book or doing the laundry.

7.        Playing with a pet – spending time with a furry friend.

8.        Decluttering – cleaning up your space to create a more peaceful environment.

9.        Making lists – writing down everything you need to do so you don’t have to remember it all in your head.

Try to do one of these things each day to help calm your mind. Over time, it will become easier to clear your mind naturally. Remember, our brains are always thinking, so it’s important to actively take a break from time to time.
